Unless you are the lucky owner of a self-defrosting fridge, this is a dull and necessary chore which must be carried out at regular intervals to get maximum efficiency from your appliance.
Switch off, and, as an added precaution unplug the fridge before starting Thermoelectric Cooler and Warmer for Skincare B088CX1YQF.
Cover the floor area with newspapers or old towels to catch drips and spills.
Gather all the cooler bags in the house and pack as much as possible into them. Surplus items may be swaddled in layers of newspaper or blankets to keep them as cool as possible during the defrosting process. Put off your planned shopping trip until after this dreary exercise and there’s no need to deal with excess baggage.
Choose a leisurely day on which to defrost the fridge. Defrosting a refrigerator is not a process which should be rushed. Never probe the ice build up with a sharp object. This could easily damage the insulation of the compartment and could result in costly repairs. If you want to speed up the defrosting process, place bowls or pots of boiling water into the appliance instead. Some people use a hairdryer, but it uses a lot of energy and is ecologically unsound, and will not really save you that much time.
Remove chunks of ice as they fall. Leaving them to melt is appealing but not sensible – it will slow down the process. They can be tossed into a handy pot-plant or the herb bed outside the kitchen door.
One defrosted, wash with tepid water containing a natural, environmentally-friendly cleaning product, like vinegar or baking soda. The vinegar smell will not linger. Pay special attention to cleaning the seals – a bacteria trap.
Switch the fridge back on.
Remove the newspaper/towels and give the floor a quick mop. It is kinder to the environment and less hassle than retrieving the wet/dry vacuum cleaner from the basement.
